Ag Intelligence: In Ag UAS, It is the Data, not the Platform

For many years I worked in the military as an intelligence analyst and I understand it is the data you collect that allows you to make the best decisions.  As a farmer, rancher, or ag business it is important to know what you need to answered to get the job done and the best ways to answer the questions you need answered.  Today, everybody and their brother is trying to sell you a UAV or Drone.  It is important to understand that the prize is in the data, what is collected and how it is analyzed, not the platform.  If you truly want to  impact the bottom-line of your business in a positive way…remember it is the Data, not the platform that allows you to make the decisions.  The following video via Precision Hawk may help you put that in perspective for your operation.

Very good article. I will be facing some of these issues as well and wonder where things are truly going to go within this arena. The FAA is dropping the ball.
